About Homeopathic Medicinal Products
The changes that occur in material substances, especially medicinal ones, through the trituration of inert powder or the succussion of inert liquid, are so incredible that they can be compared to miracles, and the reason for joy is that these changes belong to homeopathy.
Homeopathic Remedies are products obtained using substances of mineral, chemical, plant, animal, and biological origin (defined as homeopathic strains) through specific manufacturing methods defined in official pharmacopoeias (European Pharmacopoeia, French Pharmacopoeia, or German Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia).
The characteristic of homeopathic remedies is the use of highly diluted and "dynamized" substances. Success in homeopathic prescribing is based on the purity and quality of raw drugs and finished products. A substandard drug will not yield the desired results in a sick individual.
The standardization of drugs involves a comprehensive evaluation of homeopathic remedies regarding their pharmacognostic, physicochemical, and pharmacological profiles to study various qualitative and quantitative properties of drugs. Homeopathic products come in various forms such as pellets, oral drops, syrups, creams, and ointments. They are produced naturally and differ from chemical drugs. This process makes them capable of acting in accordance with the functioning of the body's defense system, similarly (homoios in Greek), without disrupting it or altering its original structure in any way.
The mode of action in line with the defensive action of the system and the high degree of dilution make homeopathic remedies safe, without side effects, and without compromising the integrity of the system.
For these reasons, homeopathic remedies are prescribed in cases where other drugs are considered harmful, such as during pregnancy, hepatitis , etc.
Homeopathic remedies thus differ from other types of drugs, such as herbal remedies or pharmaceutical drugs, although they can be prepared from these sources. This difference arises from the methods used in their preparation and the principles on which they are prescribed.
The preparation of homeopathic remedies involves the use of small amounts of substances, which are dissolved or triturated and further diluted and succussed (shaken) in a way designed to activate their healing potential while simultaneously eliminating any side effects that could arise from the use of the original substances.
There are different dilution scales, e.g., Hahnemannian dilutions, where the process is carried out using a series of separate bottles and classified as "CH" when diluted at a ratio of 1:100 or as "DH" when diluted at a ratio of 1:10. Furthermore, Korsakovian dilutions, where dilution is performed in the same bottle. The most common Korsakovian dilutions are 30K, 200K, MK, XMK, LMK, CMK, DMK, MMK.
Homeopathy cures a larger percentage of cases than any other method of treatment. Homeopathy is the latest and refined method of treating patients economically and nonviolently.
There is also the Q/LM dilution scale. The production process of these remedies (quinquagintamillesimal potencies) is based on the experiences that Hahnemann gained later in his life and is defined in his Organon of Medicine, 6th edition, §270. Properly applied homeopathic treatment with Q/LM potencies brings extraordinary results in clinical practice, requiring considerable skill on the part of the homeopathic practitioner. In work with her clients, Dr. Milić mostly uses Q/LM, CH and Korsakovian dilutions, with Q/LM potencies for the last 15 years.
Homeopathic remedies must be licensed before they are placed on the market to meet EU requirements. They can be licensed either through a simplified registration scheme, which applies to homeopathic remedies placed on the market without therapeutic indications, e.g., oral tablets with highly diluted active ingredients without reference to the patient's symptoms.
Homeopathic remedies that do not meet the requirements for the simplified scheme can be approved under national rules, e.g., homeopathic remedies with therapeutic claims for mild self-limiting conditions.
In a Croatian pharmacies some homeopathic remedies are available. A larger selection, including homeopathic remedies in Q and LM potencies, as well as numerous homeopathic kits for home first aid are available in high-quality European pharmacies where homeopathic remedies are produced by original manual methods, such as Remedia Homeopathy Manufactory & Team Santé Salvator Pharmacy, Schmidt Nagel Laboratory, Gudjons Apotheke, Helios Homoeopathy, Ainsworths Homoeopathy, etc.
